Prayer on this site.

I would like to note a few things about prayer on this site.

Prayer Closet

The Prayer Closet is on the Forum page of the site.  It is a place where we can share our prayer requests and our thanks for blessings with one another.  Our hope is that people will become comfortable enough to share their needs with one another as well as sharing their blessings.  Everyone is free to post on the forum page without special permission or auditing.  The moderators may occasionally take some kind of action if a post is truly inappropriate or if they see a need to help the poster clarify meaning or something along those lines.  There are three sections in the Prayer Closet.

Prayer Requests For Our Congregation

This forum is for specific prayer requests for members, and attendees, of our congregation.

Thanksgiving To God For His Blessings

This forum is for reports of thanksgiving.  Give thanks to God for the blessings, all the good things He has done in your life.

Prayer Requests For Other People And Concerns

This forum is for prayer requests for people, events and concerns.

In any of our forums, please pay particular attention to the following points.

  • Please be direct, to the point.
  • Use as much detail as necessary but avoid revealing personal information that you or another person may not want made known to the public.
  • Be careful not to divulge information given to you in confidence.
  • Do not use a prayer request as a masquerade for gossip.
  • Please use plain English.  Try to avoid lingo that others may not understand.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer Warriors is a group in the Community section of the site for which participants must be registered as members of the site.

Whether you see yourself as a prayer warrior or not, join this group if you are interested in corporate prayer, special prayer events or if you just want to keep tabs on related opportunities.  We will be forming a prayer team and using the group page for communicating meeting times, plans and ideas.  Are you interested in being a part of the core prayer team at Cornerstone? The team will work out ideas for prayer ministry in the church with the goal of Cornerstone being a "House of Prayer" as Jesus referenced in Matthew 21:13. Let's discuss how we can display our "House of Prayer" for the body to see and to join with us. We will start from scratch whether it be special prayer meetings, teaching on prayer, small group participation, regularly scheduled corporate prayer gatherings or anything else we think of. All ideas are worth discussing.

Any member of the site is welcome to join the group and watch what is going on and pray for our congregation.  The prayer team will consist of members who have a passion for prayer, who desire to promote prayer within our congregation and who wish to take an active role in shaping this ministry at Cornerstone.  The meetings will be set as needed.  If the group page and other communications are used properly, formal gatherings for meetings should be infrequent in my opinion.  Please consider joining the group and supporting this vital ministry at Cornerstone Church of Blaine.

I am really grateful for the friendships we have at Cornerstone. I'm especially thankful for the ladies at my Bible study and our small group. These have really shown me how God uses the people around me to remind me of his presence in unexpected ways.

I'd like prayer for the Backyard VBS I'll be hosting the week of June 22nd (M-F, 9:30-11:30am) which will focus on preschool aged kids. I feel like this small scale VBS is a great way to introduce Jesus to kids without that background and I think this is a low key way to introduce families to this. I interact with a lot of moms with preschool kids through my MOM's Club and at the park, etc. I am excited to have several of my daughters Christian friends planning to attend but I also pray that God would put the right people in my life so that kids without a Christian background might also come. I hope that this week would benefit both the kids that come and the mother's that are also there. Please pray that God would use this time to help more people to know him.
